Introduction: Some of Christ's teachings were difficult for the disciples to hear. This led led to Jesus’ response beginning in Jn 14:1-12. But again, Jesus being a master of human psychology assured His disciples of wonderful things they would accomplish.

A. Comfort in promise 1-3

C. Comfort in God [as Father] 7-11
D. Comfort in purpose 12
II. Commendable Things
A. Compassion/empathy of Jesus.
B. Encouragement of hope Jesus gave.
C. Jesus’ self-description…
1. …designed to bolster His followers.
2. …providing an image of their heavenly Father.
III. Committed Things
A. Eternal life – v. 6.
B. Earthly purpose – v. 12.
Conclusion. The greatest work that anyone could ever do is to take the gospel into the hearts of those who have not heard such Good News!
